Designing the Roadmap to Career Clarity
The 87% Problem: Preparing for Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045
Indonesia is approaching a demographic bonus, but there is a silent crisis in our education system, nearly 87% of students feel they chose the wrong major. This mismatch leads to professional anxiety, wasted potential, and a gap between academic knowledge and industry needs.
"What’s next?" was conceived as a comprehensive digital ecosystem to bridge this gap. We designed an experience that doesn't just list universities, but guides users from self-discovery (psychological testing) to professional readiness (mentoring and bootcamps).
The following storyboard captures a real frustration faced by the people we are designing for.

Project goals
Designing for Decision-Making
Choosing a career path is a high-pressure decision for high school and university students. The primary challenge was:
How Might We transform the overwhelming amount of career data into a personalized, non-intimidating journey that users actually trust?
Core Design Objectives:
Objective Self-Discovery: Replace "gut feeling" with data via integrated MBTI personality assessments.
Expert Access: Breaking down the barrier between students and practitioners through 1-on-1 virtual mentoring.
Actionable Skills: Providing a direct path to employment through specialized bootcamp recommendations that fill the gap left by traditional campus curricula.

Result
Empowering Students with Proven Confidence
Our solution was validated through iterative testing, resulting in a significantly refined user interface.
High Usability: The final prototype achieved an Excellent System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 94.6%, proving the interface is both intuitive and visually clear.
Iterative Success: We identified and fixed "information overload" by adding search bars for mentors and clearer course detail pages based on raw user feedback.
Strategic Value: The project was lauded for its strategic alignment with Indonesia’s demographic goals, offering a scalable blueprint for government or private-led career counseling.
